Narrow AI

AI systems designed for a specific task, as opposed to general intelligence.

Definition

AI systems designed for a specific task, as opposed to general intelligence. Everything that exists today is narrow AI — spam filters, image classifiers, language models, recommendation systems. Even ChatGPT is narrow in that it excels at text but doesn't truly understand the world. The contrast to AGI.
