Autoencoder

A neural network trained to compress input data into a smaller representation and then reconstruct it.

Definition

A neural network trained to compress input data into a smaller representation and then reconstruct it. The compressed middle layer (bottleneck) learns to capture the most important features. Used for dimensionality reduction, denoising, anomaly detection, and as building blocks for generative models.
